A couple of Leeds bands hit the UK charts...

In a week that saw a few local band releases, two local acts managed to make an impression on the UK charts announced yesterday. Kaiser Chiefs made it to Number 7 in the official Indie Top 40 with their single "Oh My God" and also managed to reach Number 66 in the main UK Singles Chart. The Cribs followed in their footsteps with an appearance at Number 12 in the Indie Charts for "What About Me".

Kaiser Chiefs were the week's second highest new entry in the Indie Charts, currently topped by Morrissey.
