Super Furry Animals @ Leeds Festival 2004

ˇForward, Russia! - Agit pop, stop start disco beating tunes, taking in XTC, Gang of Four and The Rapture moments - who knows what the fuck singer Tom is going on about, perhaps he doesn't - see this band on a bigger stage next year.

Peaches - just amazing. Lots of problems with mikes and monitors fire her up even more and monitor sound boy gets loads of shit from her. Strap on cocks and titties are shaken, and spurious roadie playing guitar through PA while song going on nonsense. A triumph to say the least, and an appearance by Iggy on screen. Fuck the pain away indeed...

Mclusky - After last year's incendiary performance, these boys seem a little lacklustre today - it seems too quiet and not nearly menacing enough, although that could be down to me feeling shite.

Graham Coxon - Still don't really get what Coxon is trying to do - again doesn't properly get going until the last third. Why? Cheers for the day pass though...

Super Furry Animals - Plenty of stage invasions from Goldie Looking Chain and a big duet on a song probably called "Motherfucker", when we are requested "to go mad like you're special needs". I wonder if he means the band? During "The Man Don't Give A Fuck", the band bugger off and come back resplendent in very very furry suits and finish the song off - oi, Santa, if you're reading, I want one in December.
