Deckard: Holy Rolling EP

The band that was once Baby Chaos is now Deckard. Like their former self, Deckard have not yet quite been able to really break through and let the world know what they are all about. They have featured on a Friends soundtrack though. This 4 track EP is really a 7 track EP cos it has 3 bonus tracks. Bargainous, if not a little confusing.

The 7 tracks display a variety and depth to Deckard's sound, rumbling rock with some awesome vocals and atmospheric guitar pop remind me of Muse and Doves respectively. The vocals sound like Mansun's Paul Draper or James Dean Bradfield. In fact the standout track is the Manics at their best, but better. 'The Truth Will Do' features former Snake River Conspiracy singer Tobey Torres in a lovely duet. You ought to hear this song if nothing else. 'Holy Rolling' itself is a nice little rocker with a memorable melody. The 2 live tracks included here prove that Deckard can't only cut it in the studio.

If you like your rock with powerful vocals, catchy tunes and plenty of emotion then you could do worse than to introduce yourself to Deckard with this EP.
