MMF and Bright Young Things offer Leeds musicians free music business classes...

MMF Music Management, in association with Leeds City Council's initiative Bright Young Things, is to offer a series of 10 FREE Master Classes exploring and updating the practical realities of the Music Business. This is a unique opportunity for dedicated musicians to receive direct training from the professionals that have been there, done it and are still doing it.

The programme will cover the following topics:

  • The Music Business in 2005: The Way Forward
  • Artist Management & Agreements in 2005
  • Record Companies & Recording Agreements in 2005
  • Music Publishing & Agreements in 2005
  • Collection Societies & Global Royalty Tracking in 2005
  • The Live Music Industry & Agreements in 2005
  • Music Marketing, Press & Promotion in 2005
  • Producer, Production Companies & Remixing in 2005
  • Music in Audio-Visual Media (Film, TV, Video) Agreements in 2005

The masterclasses will take place at the start of 2005 and places are limited, so get your application in as soon as possible. The deadline for applications is Monday, 29th November and you can register via the Bright Young Things 2005 website at www.leeds.gov.uk/byt/mmf.html.

Does anyone know if this is just for 'dedicated musicians'as in those in bands or who want to be in bands or also for those who want to get involved in the music business in other ways, i.e. music journalism, radio,record label work...?
