A: Hi-Fi Serious (with DVD Serious)

Hi-Fi Serious: a constant hi-octane buzz dealt from twelve tracks fired out at warp speed; gloriously unashamed mainstream UK rock, with heavy guitar riffs that emanate from an inherently delightful radio-friendly pop core. Music for the masses, of course! Irrelevant? Never. Now almost eight months since the revitalised A released what could be the UK rock album of 2002, the silver-selling album has been remarketed with an accompanying DVD, which, corporate cynics switch off now, is out just in time for Christmas. Clearly A are now big business, being the UK rock music market's equivalent to Blink 182 and all, so cashing in aside, what's the deal with the DVD and is it worth it? Well, you get some live coverage from Reading festival, I Love Lake Tahoe from the Astoria, as well as 'behind the scenes' bonus video footage, packaged as "mini-movies". But you don't get that much, so unless you're a purchase-happy A fan you may be a little disappointed with the quantity of material on offer with DVD Serious. However, the album is ace, so if you haven't yet experienced A, or are wondering what to buy this Christmas, the combined CD/DVD release is well worth checking out.
