Review of Burning Brides's CD "Plank Of Fire"

Burning Brides: Plank Of Fire

First listen brought up an intriguing where-did-I-hear-that-before feeling. Cue search and trace exercise for missing Dandy Warhols album. However, despite its pop sensibilities, Plank of Fire is to be located nearer the heavier end of the rock'n'roll bargain bin and very unlikely to be fighting it out with the aforementioned Portland quartet for your hard-earned pound. But it was always going to be so with a name like Burning Brides. Heavy fuzzed-up guitar noise was a cert. Ok categorisation whores, think Queens of the Stoneage / ...Trail of Dead, glued together with a Stooges-style riffage, and file under 'unashamed rock for adrenaline junkies'.
