Bushbaby: Tinsel Town

The first thing I notice about this track is that it has the same name as a great Feeder album track. The second thing I notice is that this version of "tinsel town" sounds a little like Feeder. It also reminds me of Terrorvision with it's chugging guitars and pop hook chorus. The chorus really is great andis sure to have those crazy skate punk kids jumping around like idiots. The songs is well crafted with some tight punchy stops and chorus outros proving that this is the well thought out product rather than a hasty 3 minute mosh-a-thon.

"Skinny" isn't quite as catchy as the title track, rightly so, but like a flirt who doesn't put out the early promise of the single as a whole begins to fade. "Fine Line" is a dak acoustic track with a bit of a wailing vocal line and isn't very memorable. It sounds a bit like a Metallica cast off that has been picked up and dusted off.

The title track may well find itself onto a few compilations and is worth getting hold of but I'd like a bit more evidence before deciding whether Bushbaby are worth a second date.
