Following on from the band's successes at the annual Brit Awards, Leeds' Kaiser Chiefs have this evening added to their mantelpiece collection by scooping the Best Album award (for "Employment") at the ShockWaves NME Awards 2006. The ceremony, which took place at Hammersmith Palais in London, also saw the Leeds Festival take the award for the Best Event.
