Galitza @ Royal Park Cellars
By Dave ProcterSo summer is now over and it's time for Steve Kind and his Panama Promotions team to get back into the fray, but this time three times a week. Entertaining us first are local boys REMO. This band has a favourite word, and that word is yeah. In fact, at one stage, I drift off and imagine that the setlist composes the songs "Yeah (part1)", "Yeah (part2)" and so on. It's generic rock, Jim, but just as we know it. Is this it? Scotland's VERBAL have come a long way to deliver something that is basically not really interesting at all. It's generic indie, Jim, but just as we know it. Is this it? At this stage, I considered putting a review of Bury v Stoke into this article, to spice it up a bit like, but you are spared such detail. Headliners GALITZA save the day. It is well documented how the Charm team were mighty fond of the Land Speed Loungers and in the same way, I feel we may well be bowing at the altar of Galitza, with we're not worthy type praise soon. The songs bounce up and down, bob and weave, never keeping still and crucially never even slightly get anywhere near being boring. Central to this is the passion of front woman Emma Adams. Smile permanently plastered onto her face, she shouts and screams and hits her guitar like it's the last thing she's ever going to do. This is the defining part of the night and serves as a lesson to all front men everywhere. Welcome back to live duties.
