Fury of the Headteachers: Farewell Comrade

Fury of the Headteachers' fresh take on punk rock can be heard on their new release, 'Farewell Comrade'. Although it starts with a standard thudding introduction, it soon kicks into an energetic fuzz ball that motors along. It's not often that you hear a punk band incorporate different moods into a song and that's what makes this track so interesting.

'Farwell Comrade' is accompanied by the superb 'Stumped'. This is a track that sounds slightly disjointed, but it's this unevenness that works so well. The guitar screeching in the background is an alternative take on a guitar riff.

As a six-piece punk band they are surprisingly controlled, although on both tracks the vocals aren't that clear. But they are sung with such passion that it really doesn't matter. These two tracks really promote the band and give the impression that they will be an exciting live act.
