The Yorkshire Rats

The Story of The Yorkshire Rats all began back in 2005, in the local watering hole known as the Counting house, a local hang out for punks, skins, and rudeboys of Pontefract.

Eddie, Billy (a local mate of ours), Don and John had been talking about a band for a while, so we decided to give it a shot.

Don was previously in a band known as The Faded and knew a guy called Rob who played rhythm guitar. So that settled we decided the line up, Eddie - Drums, Don - Lead guitar, Billy - accordion/acoustic/electric guitar, John - Bass Guitar, and finally Rob - Rhythm Guitar... and the plan was to all sing.

However before any practice was booked Don decided to ask Bruins (he was a part time roadie for The Faded) to sing for the band as he knew he could sing.

We booked practice and took it from there, Billy decided not to be part of the band before the first practice as he had other commitments. And this was the beginning of The Yorkshire Rats.

This line up would continue until March 06, when a decision was taken by the band to remove Rob from Rhythm Guitar. So along stepped in Griff who Don had been mates with for a long time through school and what not. A week before the first album sessions began, John left the band due to other personal commitments... Hobbsie is now the Rats' bassist as he came to London and recorded half the album with us and has replaced John with 10 times the passion and talent.
