Nathan Burton: Untitled

The six tracks on offer here feature 3 already released so it's a little bit like going over old ground. But when the material is this strong it's well worth the reminder. Stephen Fretwell meets Badly Drawn Boy it's the likes of Burton's natural talent that only deepens the mystery why James Morrison's soulless supermarket shelf slop manages to dominate the current singer songwriter market. So instead console yourself by listening to the roots ridden tones of Never Again, Lucky #1 or the upbeat stroll of It's Hard To Sell Your Home. It is to be hoped that Burton does not get lost amongst the swathes of dross on MySpace but instead finds an attentive audience for his honest northern tunes.
