Viva Voce: Faster Than A Dead Horse

Viva Voce's latest single 'Faster Than A Dead Horse' is a psychedelic pop gem. Soak up the feel of the song and you'll think you're cruising through San Francisco in the mid-60's.

Taken from their latest album 'Get Yr Blood Sucked Out', 'Faster Than A Dead Horse' is based around a repetitive riff and a solid groove. It has a very basic vocal line, but the Beach Boys style boo-wop backing vocals really add to the dreamy affect this song has.

Considering the band are only a two-piece (reversed roles of the White Stripes, and still married, with the husband Kevin Robinson on drums and wife Anita on guitar) they do make a great sound. Unlike the thumping blues-rock of the Stripes, Viva Voce seem to concentrate more on melodic pop that surely would have been very popular during the Summer of Love.
