Great review Kate! To make people even more envious, that was only James' third ever gig...

And my copy only had the one track on it as well. I'm not lazy or anything...

Cheers guys. I do love this record very very much...

As for getting hold of the EPs, I think there may not be any copies of 'I'm a Hungry Little Girl' left, but you can still download it from the website. I think the first one is still available too.

No worries Mark. I appreciate the criticism.

My comment about (ahem) comment fields was not really about people disagreeing, as that's fair enough (and to be fair to you, that's essentially what you were doing). What does get my goat is when people just slate/insult the reviewer to defend the band in question (see my Red Sparowes review for an example) without actually saying anything constructive.

Ah well. It's all just good clean fun in the end...

Posted in CD Review: The KBC - Pride Before the Fall

"the mid-90s-era-indie-god-awful (chorus)"...

Applied to the chorus of one song.

"add a bit of hissing hi-hat and a dollop of white funk bass and the indie disco is your empire"

Puts that in context as far as I'm concerned.

Cheers Chris!

'twas a top night indeed.

Just a note to say that our website is now www.myspace.com/paloaltoband and has lovely free mp3 downloads for you all.

(Could you amend this please Dave?)

The guy definitely has something about animals - I believe his last EP was called 'The Happy Pig'!

Posted in CD Review: Lisa Brown - What's That Sound

May I recommend Lisa Brown's first EP, No Light Left, which has the full band version of 'Snowfight In The City Centre' and the best tune they've done 'No Light Left'. It is very very good.

I think you can still get it from www.lisabrown.net.

Hmmm.

Sorry Chris, but this album deserved a dissertation. It's good. And long. Like my review. Which is not as good.

Ahem.
