Posted in Live Review: O Fracas + Fear Of Music + That Fucking Tank + Wax Planet

"Fear Of Music are good full stop. They play with as much verve and confidence as a band with considerably more experience and it's almost surreal to see kids of such a young age perform so well. Especially Harry Potter-esque guitar wizard Michael Ward and Thom Yorke/Ian Curtis hybrid protégée in waiting vocalist Joe Rose, who lead the line supremely. Lack of pocket money aside, it will be a miracle if Fear Of Music aren't heralded as the future of British rock by this time next year."

This would be true if it weren't for the fact they were the worst band of the night. Good for such a young band but the likes of That Fookin Tank and O Fracas were far far far better. This review reads a bit like you might be chums with the band or be one of their dads.

Posted in CD Review: U2 - How To Dismantle An Atomic Bomb

Dear reviewer,

Having just partaken in the elegant yet regretfully lost art of reading your literature I have a number of dilemmas regarding the general atmospheric delusion that you seem to have amalgamated within your misguided aspirations regarding this whimsical repertoire of melodic notes and musical inclinations.

"It's hard to look at any of the current crop of 'stars' and imagine them being around after 20 years and writing something as sublime as this and sounding as fresh as they ever have "

I am sorry young sir but this sort of misguided, neopolitan statement is a clear sign of your lack of true grasp of the term sublime. Have you ever visited the lower African colonies where the beloved natvie Aryan tribes run free and wild, untamed by the sanctities of modern day political escapades coated in a sugary flowered diorama? No I'm sure you haven't. Only then good sir may you claim for something to be truly sublime and fresh

Good day to you

S. Glacken

Posted in News Article: The Music to release a special edition version of their album "Welcome To The North"

I think it's great when a band re-release a special version of an album. especially when all the real fans will have rushed out on the day it was orginally released and paid good money for their album. Then a few months later out comes a "special version" which contains loads of extra goodies. Thankfully i don't like the music so this particular release doesn't affect me. Maybe one day when bands release albums no one will actually buy them until they are re-released 3 months later with extra stuff. Then you get value for money.

Posted in Live Review: The Cribs + The Old House

Jerry's Final thought: I think the reason i don't get all this is because I wasn't there from the start when the Cribs first started out. I'm sure that most of you were there when they first began and have been part of their rise to fame and that's partly why you love them so much because you've shared the experience. Because of this people like Coffe Bean, Paul S and others are part of The Cribs family and may feel that an attack on the Cribs is an attack on them almost. This is not the case. It's not that I hate the Cribs, it's just that there's better stuff out there which I feel should be getting the push ahead of them, but thats only my opinon, which is one of many. I hope this can bring a conclusion to this saga. Take care of yourself and each other.
