Nice review Fonse. Though Vulpine never had a song on a DTTR CD. It was the onthebone compilation you are thinking of.
This Et Al were the headliners on the night too not Black Wire
Very good they were.
if you had a son dave we'd call hm son of dork
I think therefore i am

"Fear Of Music are good full stop. They play with as much verve and confidence as a band with considerably more experience and it's almost surreal to see kids of such a young age perform so well. Especially Harry Potter-esque guitar wizard Michael Ward and Thom Yorke/Ian Curtis hybrid protégée in waiting vocalist Joe Rose, who lead the line supremely. Lack of pocket money aside, it will be a miracle if Fear Of Music aren't heralded as the future of British rock by this time next year."
This would be true if it weren't for the fact they were the worst band of the night. Good for such a young band but the likes of That Fookin Tank and O Fracas were far far far better. This review reads a bit like you might be chums with the band or be one of their dads.
I've got this CD and it's highly impressive. Worth more than 3 stars. But that's just my opinion. Doh!

unlucky
no
Are in you in Dakota?
EMO
Yes if you pay for it all and give me beer all nite for free
Cod or Haddock?
I AM ALSO OUTRAGED!
!!! are an ace band on warp records. Funky bass lines and ace beats. Check them out
Ladies why did you not get in touch and ask me for another great title?
i had loads in mind.
Echodine were quite rocky and the Gutterfighters were interesting
Anyway Quarry, I thought it was a very good insult. Just because you don't agree with it doesn't give you the right to insult a well written and informative piece of insulting.
Wow i didn't expect you to like this band. I thought it was only mike quarry that loved them this much
Sorry I'm a bit busy at the present time with uni and stuff so can't really get into one of those 34 page arguments where u call me a twat and then i say go listen to razorlight then you say i'm this and then dave steps in and says "it's the opinion of the reviewer" and then Mike Q steps in and says everyone is a twat and then some random comes in and agrees with me but then someother random gets upset about the razorlight comment and then someone starts talking about fights and then dave steps in again and tells everyone to calm down and then Gav Miller steps in and says something about how its a lot like the Cribs thing that lasted for 2 million pages and then someone who has been away for a week comes back and says wow look what i've missed and so on and so on.
I would like to add that the hi-fi club is some sort of time warp. usually time flies when you're having fun yet at the TTS tons of fun takes place but when you check the time it is still early. The result is total and utter drunkness and joy. I think Mr Chapman is a time lord or something
each album that is
I think this is pretty crap. Not the review but the song.
I love this.
"I disagree entirely"
"did u see them?"
"I didn't attend the fest"

It's going well. I met the band last week and we went to wimpeys
Having now listened to this a fair few times i think it deserves of 4/5 but I don't feel it's a 8/10. I know that makes no sense but I'd give it 7/10 yet also be happy to give it 4/5.
This cd has now been living in my cd player for over 2 months now. I love it dearly and often hug it
in other news all the tracks from this EP and the previous EP are on the album "place your trust in empty spaces" which is only £5 from our website, in Crash records and also Borders.
That's my dog in the picture by the way
fucktard
Dear reviewer,
Having just partaken in the elegant yet regretfully lost art of reading your literature I have a number of dilemmas regarding the general atmospheric delusion that you seem to have amalgamated within your misguided aspirations regarding this whimsical repertoire of melodic notes and musical inclinations.
"It's hard to look at any of the current crop of 'stars' and imagine them being around after 20 years and writing something as sublime as this and sounding as fresh as they ever have "
I am sorry young sir but this sort of misguided, neopolitan statement is a clear sign of your lack of true grasp of the term sublime. Have you ever visited the lower African colonies where the beloved natvie Aryan tribes run free and wild, untamed by the sanctities of modern day political escapades coated in a sugary flowered diorama? No I'm sure you haven't. Only then good sir may you claim for something to be truly sublime and fresh
Good day to you
S. Glacken
This is probably my fav song from all the parva/kaiser chiefs releases. It's a lot darker than the usual Kaiser happy efforts. I also picked it up on cd and vinyl for about £6 a few months ago and now they are both worth a fortune!!
arn't bon jovi pop?
I'm confused now
I think it's great when a band re-release a special version of an album. especially when all the real fans will have rushed out on the day it was orginally released and paid good money for their album. Then a few months later out comes a "special version" which contains loads of extra goodies. Thankfully i don't like the music so this particular release doesn't affect me. Maybe one day when bands release albums no one will actually buy them until they are re-released 3 months later with extra stuff. Then you get value for money.
I believe so. I've even pursuaded a few people to come along. I've hyped you up so i expect a good show which includes break dancing
So ash are dull and boring but the girl from ash makes decent music?! i find them both to be dull but hey what ever floats your boat
Well i'm in nottingham most of the time now trying to finish my degree but will be back over here once its all over. Visit www.johnnypoindexter.co.uk if you want to see what i'm upto

I've heard some stuff by this band. I agree that they don't deserve 0 stars. At least 1 or two seems fair.
every*
Or maybe the brick through my window
New album "Place Your Trust In Empty Spaces" is avaliable now from our website
www.johnnypoindexter.co.uk
Also avaliable from Crash records and Borders local interest in Leeds.
It features all the tracks from EP 1 of 3 plus a whole host of others
Are you still going on about the Rasmus? just let it go. They'll never let you join the band as you havn't got the right look.
Maybe they do "rock" when people see them live. But on record I didn't rate them at all.
I think my comments have to be slightly personal since i'm trying to write about my personal opinion with regards to the music. There'd be little point in me writing a review on what Holden DeForge thought of it. Though i'd be willing to try
6 Fingered Man are yet another great band from the ever growing Baildon music scene. Infact Baildon should get it's own music site.
"Is there anyone who is as astute as you Si?"
Sam Saunders of course.
I was gutted when it turned out that the reviewing genius known as Holden De Forge was just plain old mike q
I was worried for a minute there.
Cheers
You're a tight git
No they were one of the worst. It wasn't because they played badly, it was like I was watching an empty stage and nothing was being played. Hard to explain really.
We shall start playing sometime in 2005.
stop bullying me
all hail weatherspoons and their cheap ale
shame on you. Channel four has all you need
Are the CDs signed by the great man himself?
It's all true. I'm guilty. Think I'll go hide in the Shadows.
See no response
They played Reading/Leeds last year to promote the album so I guess so.
I've only listened to it once so far and did enjoy it.
Jesus, what an insult.
I think Vib Gyor should play death metal and dress in black. Oh and wear masks aswell
How far would you go to get 5 stars of sam saunders?
Maybe another day. Get a website aswell!
I sense a pattern
Don't forget that Josh Homme and Nick Olivera helped write the album
Excuse me there's still a taxi outside for a Mr Gomm. Its meter has been running for 8 days now
woof
Well they've split up now. Bit of a shame.
Hmm I just downloaded some mp3s, The Xenith Sound don't sound as impressive as TSOC on record
Only joking there. don't want you getting upset now
Looks like its just thee and me again.
Well my job finishes on the 16th July....
I don't believe you. How can i ever trust you again.
I wouldn't listen to what the NME says.
They got that name from me. I feel used and cheap
Bloody hell Sam you're giving out a lot of recommended" gold stars this week
Your mum
4 stars!? What was I smoking? This deserves 3 stars at best. I didn't realise at the time but the lead singer has an irritating voice. Almost like he has trouble speaking.
Liar
I'm glad you enjoyed it
40 years! That's a lot of gigs
Though none of them compare to Meg White. She is amazing. Her style of drumming just blows my mind
Well Stella you seem to care what LMS thinks otherwise you wouldn't be crying.
I knew he didn't have the balls to accept the challenge
what team is scum? Being from Bradford i would say that scum would be leeds but since this is a leeds based website i'm gonna say that scum is huddersfield and that i really love leeds. Down with the terriers. boo.
True
I'm not sure whether I should be scared or excited
Managed to pick up the very rare desert sessions 1/2 and 3/4 brand new on cd for a total of £13. On ebay they are selling for at least £40 quid each. Bargain me thinks
Jerry's Final thought: I think the reason i don't get all this is because I wasn't there from the start when the Cribs first started out. I'm sure that most of you were there when they first began and have been part of their rise to fame and that's partly why you love them so much because you've shared the experience. Because of this people like Coffe Bean, Paul S and others are part of The Cribs family and may feel that an attack on the Cribs is an attack on them almost. This is not the case. It's not that I hate the Cribs, it's just that there's better stuff out there which I feel should be getting the push ahead of them, but thats only my opinon, which is one of many. I hope this can bring a conclusion to this saga. Take care of yourself and each other.
Well said Mr DeForge. The idea that this gimp out of razorlight is some song writing genius is pie in the sky. Over rated garbage
Yea, i saw Gavin's copy of your cd. Thought some of you looked a like you should be in school
what are you talking about
Harsh but fair
Lightning bolt do rock. I do believe Noxagt are playing in leeds om wednesday aswell
If they were 12 years old and chipmonks then that would be cool. How come in the cartoon "The Chipmonks" the dad was a human but his kids were animals. Did he shag a chipmonk? What's the deal with it all? Any ideas people?
It's the only song i've heard from Rock & Roll which i've been told is crap. Love is hell 1 & 2 are truly amazing.
there's a lot of demos coming in from local bands with frontmen trying to wail like mr bellamy. Sadly very few have the girl like vocal chords to pull it off.
Not much really
Nice chav reference. I managed to get one in my live review of the von bondies. www.chavscum.co.uk
only joking
it does kick ass
don't worry i've seen worse biogs
That's twice you've name checked me. I hope you arn't expecting the same from me.
