Michael Rossiter: La Charge

Solo or with the Folk Theatre Partisans, Michael Rossiter does good work round the Leeds acoustic scene and beyond.

Michael Rossiter: Like a Green Moray on a National Path

A very relaxing chilled out effort from Michael Rossiter, this roughly recorded demo is something of a little gem, sounding like the backing music for Watercolour Challenge or any other relaxing daytime show for your grandparents.

Wildbirds & Peacedrums @ Brudenell Social Club

I like to think that one day Forest of Sound will make a mistake: they are clearly just too good at choosing the right acts to book for the right nights.

The Rosie Taylor Project to release their debut album in May 2008

Leeds five-piece The Rosie Taylor Project will release their debut album on Monday, 5th May 2008. The album is titled 'This City Draws Maps' and will be released on CD and Digital Download formats via the Leeds label Bad Sneakers Records.

Crosscut Saw @ Grove Inn

It's a noble sight: performers fighting the flu and still giving an audience what they came for. The bug-victim count was fairly high on stage when Crosscut Saw battled their way through a couple of sets of fine stuff - even if it was as late as fifth song's guitar solo before the full spellbinding effect gripped listeners.

Fran Rodgers @ Sela Bar

Ok first things first I got to this gig rather late and missed the first two acts. I really felt quite bad about that, and it also means I have no words to write about David Broad and Michael Rossiter (who I am sure were fantastic if the last two acts were any thing to go by)...

The Scaramanga Six @ Packhorse

It's a brave idea by The Bone crew - take the Packhorse, double the venue part, open the bar, let people see one band, then wander to the other stage to see the next 5 mins later.

Ali Whitton @ Fenton

Forgetting it's Sunday I turn up just in time to see the end of Rob Galloway's set. This comprises of a song about doing something unsavory to a poor ginger girl's rectum and a cover of Electric Six's 'Danger!

The Lodger @ Brudenell Social Club

The Bone is 1 year old today. No longer sucking at the mother's teat of gig promotion, it's now old enough and daft enough to stand on its own 2 feet.

Interview: The Rosie Taylor Project

After the recent release of one of this year's sweetest singles 'Black & White Films', The Rosie Taylor Project caught up with Leeds Music Scene to discuss the past, the future, and the city of Leeds.
