For those that don't know, The Brudenell Social Club is in grave danger. If money can't be raised for soundproofing then their licence will be revoked and this wonderful venue will be no more.

August bank holiday weekend rolls around again and this years Leeds festival will rock!!! Anticipation is high after an amazing return for the Glastonbury festival earlier on in the year.
Unfortunately this tour is undermined by its premise, it's a fucking MySpace tour. Most of the crowd are 12 who think they're cool 18 year olds because that's what it says on their profile and MySpace is gospel don't you know.
I saw the Lostprophets on the NME tour way back in 2001 and they rocked. I really enjoyed the show and the album.
The Pigeon Detectives @ Cockpit
Yesterday, The Pigeon Detectives did a little instore thing in Jumbo at 4pm. I nipped in at three-ish to rifle through a few bits, spend money I don't have and then drop things.
As Ian Curtis is my witness, Editors are good. They may not be the four most effervescent of chaps or the most endearing of performers but if nothing else, Editors prove substance over style should be the way to go any day.
The upstairs room at the Cardigan Arms is a perfect place for an acoustic gig. With its small, dark room, the atmosphere is made even better by the dozen or so candles that are situated around the room, creating a very intimate feel to the whole place.
A good crowd turned up for tonight's free Barfly sessions gig but there was plenty of room and it could have been promoted a little bit better because many of the genuine fans who would have paid to see these bands knew nothing of it.
